Live Painting
We perform many types of live Japanese calligraphy painting and this one is the biggest! We reserve this performance for large gatherings where crowds can come and go, or stay to enjoy the full experiece. While not limited to just these categories below, they are our most popular.
Canvas Performance
We create exhibition works of art that feature any number of Japanese calligraphy, almost always painted using the kanji alphabet for its depth of meaning and compelling, often provocative style, of visual aesthetic.
Match that up with an array of complementary or contradictory colors and tones make for an even greater display of meaning and context than the written word alone could ever achieve.
Paper Umbrella Collage
These types of events are of particular fun, as we are granted the honor to create many individual works of art, instead of a large, single piece. It has been our long-time practice to build and paint the collage of Japanese paper umbrellas, then take the whole bouquet and pass out its individual flowers to the audience, event organizers or those celebrating special occasions, at the end of the event.
Hanging Wall Scrolls
There are many, almost endless variations and combinations of arranging and painting Japanese hanging wall scrolls. They can be individual stand-alone works of art, parts of a whole, or interchangeable. The enjoyment is seeing just how they may or may not fit together in harmony or discord.
